Aarna Law welcomes Partner

Apoorva Guruprasad, Aarna LawAarna Law is delighted to announce that Apoorva Guruprasad has been welcomed into the partnership as Head of Litigation, effective from 1 April 2023.

Apoorva has over 15 years of experience in contentious and non-contentious areas of legal practice. Her principal areas of work include civil and commercial litigation before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, District Courts and Tribunals.

She has served in advisory and representational roles on several construction disputes, including issues relating to joint development agreements, employer and contractor disputes, and the defence of winding-up petitions of construction companies. In addition, she has considerable experience in domestic and International disputes, arbitrations, mediation, intellectual property and real estate laws.

Speaking on the promotion, managing partner Kamala Naganand said: “Shreyas and I welcome the opportunity to bring in like-minded leaders at Aarna Law. Apoorva has many years of experience in disputes and is the right candidate to head our litigation team. While her focus is construction, her experience in disputes and her passion for other forms of dispute resolution such as arbitration and mediation aligns with where we see Aarna Law growing.”

Apoorva began her practice with founding partner Shreyas Jayasimha in 2006. After working for a law firm in Delhi, she returned to practice in Bangalore at Indus law and thereafter practised independently. She took a break in her career and joined Aarna Law in 2020.

Aarna Law is an India-based international practice rooted in principles of justice, excellence and compassion. Kamala Naganand said that the practice is focused on growing organically. “We have put in place a similar path for every member of our team, to grow as practice leads and partners.”

Apoorva graduated from the University Law College, Bangalore University, Bangalore and holds a Master’s degree in Business Laws from the National Law School of India University in Bangalore. She is enrolled as an Advocate with the Karnataka State Bar Council.
